I just encountered this mistake.
As always, verify that what Google tells you makes sense before you go driving off.

nice one…
I have another, albeit a bit funny/ironic…
Google Maps Microsoft’s NYC office — 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NYC…
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1290+Avenue+of+the+Americas,+New+York,+NY&sll=40.753745,-73.995932&sspn=0.009103,0.01929&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Sixth+Avenue&z=15
puts you at 23rd and 6th Avenue — however, that is incorrect. Microsoft’s 1290 location is midtown West near Radio City Music Hall
It looks like it’s physically possible. What’s the story behind that one? Some sort of cop entrance/exit?
Yeah, it appears to be an emergency services / service vehicles only entrance.
I dunno, if you look at the Street View, it looks pretty doable. The “exit” is pretty wide open. I’d try it!
Rod Roudi:
Stick in 1290 Sixth Ave and it gets it correct. So Google is pointing out that real New Yorkers NEVER call it Ave of the Americas!!
